i kinda skipped a few pages but i just thought of something while reading the first few, custom manufacturing must be purchased in 60,000 from interlink, divide by 16 pads is 3,750 (16 pad replacement packages), many have said they would buy it in a heart beat, the question is would everyone put thier money where they're mouth is and pay for it in advance. of course i did not read anything about the cost for 60,ooo units which is a major factor but there are definitley more than 3,750 people out there with broken pads, I think this is an opportunity in disguise. i know nym is making a kit but i think the demand might exceed his supply of materials and time (no offense), im actually waiting to order his first anyways. i believe if we found the price sold the units in packages and had someone on this site to contribute time in making a site that can be easily maintained specifically for mpc 1000 pad orders we can sell 3,750 16 pad packages, i don't think it will be easy but i think it would be very possible. theres people who are not even members of our forum who are googling "how to fix dead pads". if interlink can give us a quote and mpc-forum member order them upfront. the director of this project wouldn't have to spend a dime. the gas to get to the post office would even be paid for. Even if the interlink pads were the same price as akai's replacement pads, i think people would buy the quality replacements with no problem knowing they would only have to perform mpc surgery once.
(with no offense to nym)
if nyms kit doesn't do the trick,i think this should be something considered.
