FX

i just wanted to double check my understanding on someting...

the FX on the 1K only go to the stereo outs?
i can't send them through the 4 individual outs?

i planned on using the 4 outs for quicker multitracking, but w/o sending the internal fx it would be pointless. i know i can add fx on the multitrack, but i'd like to use the MPC's FX.

unless i'm wrong, it looks like i'll be recording my MPC tracks 1 at a time.

You are correct. You could add fx to a sound and resample if you only wanted to use the MPC.

I pretty much use the effects off of my PC so it isn't so bad for me but I can see if someone just wants to use the MPC, it would kind of suck. It would be cool if they would add internal resampling, that would make it a little easier.

the 1000 has internal resampling!

i mostly use external fx too. but sometimes i wanna hook up a flanger or something for the occasional retarded effect. but it always seems to be going to an output where i dont want it..

Does it? I thought you had to go out the outs and back in the ins. I guess I better read the manual again or just try it. Where is this funtion at?

Hey Elmacaco, There are only 3 options in record. Analog (for the inputs) Digital (obvious) and Main Out (analog outs). The Main out implies that you would have to route these to the analog in's. I am usally pretty good with this stuff but I am not seeing a internal resampling option here. Can you elaborate on this because that would be a major feature that I did not know about on the MPC1000. Thanks in advance.

Main out is internal resampling....you don't have to connect anything...one of the reasons why i brought the mpc1000 instead of mpc2000xl

Back to the original question -
Effects are applied per pad
Out puts are assigend per pad
Thus, (although I haven't tried it) I don't see why you can't us the internal effects when using the multiple outs.

However if you are mixing down internally then you can't use the multiple outs cause your mixing down to a single track, and the way you control what goes to this track is by sending it to main out. So if you are mixing down internally you do have to do it one track at a time.
Thats what I do and then I import it to my computer for final eq and processing.

i really just wanted to be able to use the master FX. i got enough outboard ish for other fx, like phaser, but it would be nice to be avle to use these.
no sweat though, probably only like 35% off my tracks will be from the MPC, so i don't really mind recording the tracks one at a time to my multi-track.

I make techno and delay and feeback are a big part of techno - no delay in the 1000 but like you've said in many other posts before - just add your delay in the computer, bounce to .wav and then load it up into your 1000 - bam!

My bad - I just tried it and you (and the manual) are right, no effects on individual outs.
