Recording Audio To pro tools

what is the best way to record your mpc tracks as audio to an m-box 2 and what would the connections be.

So just the midi connections will enable it to record as audio and not just a midi track huh.

is it not common sense to go 'audio out' from MPC into 'audio in' of the MBox?

so audio out to audio in would be the best way then and no midi connections or are the midi connections necessary.

MIDI does NOT transfer any audio at all whatsoever

the midi connections could be used soley for syncing, but they never, will never and dont and cant and wont carry audio, for that you need....audio connections.
if you have memory you can always internally resample and then transfer via USB though

midi connections would allow you to record the performance information of all your funky pad tapping into Pro tools.
Then you can use those patterns to make groove templates or use that midi data to trigger plugins.
Easier way to get midi data into pro tools is to export aka save midi to Cf card and load it into protool.

Sync Midi allow protools or mpc to tell mpc or protools to start, stop rewind etc.
Ex: protools = Master mpc = slave or MPC = Master Protools =Slave
Mater controls the slave Start, Stop & play functions

if you have the mbox2 then what you will need to record from the mpc to pro tools is midi cables and 2 audio cables.

connect the midi cable from the mbox midi out to the mpc midi in and connect your audio cables from the outputs 1 and 2 on the back of the mpc and connect them to the inputs 1 and 2 of the mbox. read up on pro tools to show you how to sync (which is what you need the midi cables for) if you are using the official mpc OS then you are limited to midi clock for sync'ing.
