Hi,

I just got an MPC1000 and I'm trying to use it with a Roland MC-307. I will be utilizing the Roland MC-307 as a sound module/generator. I want to be able to save a project on my MPC so when I go back to it all the settings on the MC-307 will be there. I have a feeling this can be done somehow (It'd be really primitive it it couldn't be done).

I can think of a way to make it work but not the way I want it to. This would be to to save a sequence on the MPC and save a project on the MC-307 that uses the patches I want, then open both of them up separately. This, however, seems a little bit odd to me, I'm wondering if there's a better way.

p.s. I got the MPC (blue and red) for $500 new in open box, how good of a deal is that?

Thanks.

but it seems like youd need to make the midi patch template to be saved and reloaded on your 307. cause on the mpc youll only be setting a or b channel and saving your midi notes to trigger in sequence to the coresponding midis on the other unit.

and btw that is a very good deal!

Yeah, i though it was a good deal ! yeaah! I guess I'm gonna have to do the patch loading from the mc 307 itself... unlesss somebody knows how to do it the other way...

I don't use new Rolland gear (except to dork with it in the store a bit till I get bored, which doesn't take very long, after which I read the manual and find it doesn't have the features I want etc...) but if the 307's patches can be stored as programs and recalled with midi program changes, you could do it that way. Check your 307 midi implementation chart. If it works that way just save the PC command on the MPC 307 midi track.

good suggestion, I'll check it out. My guess is that I'd still have to include that program number somwhere in the MPC1000 and have it sent through midi if I don't want to have to touch the MC307's settings.
