Loading Standard Midi File?

Ok, I'm a little confused. I've been trying to load MIDI sequences (SMF's)saved on other programs like Protools or Korg Karma. But when i load it nothing happens.

If i have a MIDI sequence on protools with 4 Midi tracks when I save the midi information to a Standard Midi File from Protools and load it into the MPC, will each Midi Channel (1,2,3,4) be on tracks 1,2,3,4 respectively on the MPC?. Also when I load the SMF will it be loaded onto Sequece01 on the MPC?

ahhhhh, ive done it but i dont really remember the specifics. i can say that it worked well and that it worked more or less like i expected it to.

once the SMF is loaded you have to assign the tracks to something, like a synth or a program.

play around with it...
