MOTIF RACK OR EMU MO PHATT WID MPC?

alright guys, i really like this site, and in the past i have gotten some very good advice....now here's another one...

I'm deciding if I should invest in the EMU MO-PHATT with an expandable board for HIP HOP SOUNDS or should I invest my hard earned dollars on a MOTIF RACK? The motif rack is alot more expensive with over a 1000 sounds....but not expandable.

Ideally I want to have a sound module that I could use for a long time,...i'm shooting for longevity. If i purchased the MOTIF, I'm afraid that in the future I might want more sounds, and I would need to get rid of the MOTIF. ARRGGGHH! I'm soooo confused, I'm getting one of these within the next week....if you guys have used any other sound modules and are satisfied with them please let me know..I am aware of the TRITON RACK, but that's out of my league. I can't afford it. I really like the MOTIF RACK though....please your opinion MATTERS to me!!!

if u tweak the presets on the motif rack it will last for a very long time playa! I have the Motif ES 6 and Im not gettin rid of it! But there is rumor that Yamaha is suppose to drop a new rack later this year[dunno when tho] but if u cant wait just get the motif rack! Or maybe the new Fantom-XR that will be out within a month or 2 is about $1400 tho might be out of yur price range!

Any module with the mpc is "Hot"
I plan on getting the MOTIF rack myself for its Arps and the string sections.
Whatever you choose between the two well be a good choice.

Hey, about what you wrote 'bout the Motif-rack not being expandable, that's purely wrong, it's expandable indeed. If I'm not mistaken there's room for two (or was it three, don't remember) expansion cards, like DX-7 synthesis expansion (you'll get a full-blown DX-7 inside it), or an analog synth, more drums, etc. I know, because I have one.

no, it's not expandable! that's what the guy @ GC said,....you have one, even on the MOTIF's site, it says that it's only expandable for effects, not for more sounds.
