So, since the stereo outputs of my 1000 seem to be outputting really low, I decided to try using the digital output, which I supposed to mirror the stereo out.

Now, it definitely has a much louder output, though there seems to be no way of controlling the level from on the 1000, but I keep getting this repetitive, scratchy sounding noise during playback. It's not apparent when I stop playback, which is kind of odd. I'm wondering if maybe the ouput is distorting, which is causing the noise.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a remedy? Thanks.

Ok well the first question is what are you connecting your MP to?

That is because you didn't sync the digital clock of the device you are plugged into to the MPC's digital clock.

Good look. I'll try it when I get home. Why was none of this explained in the manual? I guess they figured that if you're messing with digital audio, you should be aware of such menial issues.

Thanks again.
