Bluebox or other software for MPC1K?

I posed this question in another post, but it was kind of buried in another topic so I thought I'd address it separately.

Is there any software out there that allows you to drag and drop multiple samples onto a single pad and have them auto assigned to the layers of that pad? I just started using bluebox, but from what I gather when you drop in multiple samples they get assigned to layer 1 of the next available pad.

I'm trying to build programs for some multi-sampled drum kits that have 3 or 4 velocity layers per drum. I'm hoping to be able to assign the samples to layers quickly and then be able to apply the same velocity settings to multiple/all pads.

I have six of these kits and it took me like 3 hours to finish 2. The end result is worth it, but if I can save some time I'm all for it.

They are really nice but they cost me like $50+ and are taking forever to set up. In the end it will be worth it though.

I've changed my ways. No more garbage drums off the internet - only quality multisamples for my instruments. You wouldn't believe the difference.

Yea I usually make all my own drums now.. either recorded in the lab, or sampled off vinyl. Not to knock the internet tho. I've got some ill shit trading with my producer homies, as well as a few gems from sample sites.

By internet, I didn't mean legit sample sites. I was more referring to a lot of crappy free samples and scraped together (poorly recorded) drum kits I've picked up in the past.

No more of that though. It's all quality from here on out.

Uh yes. Doesnt the mpc1000 read mpc2000xl pgms? Last time I checked it did. So it will read programs made by it.

MPC 1000 File Compatibility:
MPC2000XL SEQ, ALL, PGM, WAV (When PGM file is loaded, only pad assign is loaded. Other edit parameters are ignored.)
MPC4000: SEQ, ALL, WAV (No compatibility of PGM)
MPC3000: No compatibility
Z4/8: WAV only
S1000/3000: No compatibility

Yeah... it only reads the pad assignment like it says. He's trying to build his kits.. so the 2000xl.com editor isn't going to be sufficient.

That was in response to whether or not the program would work. But that would still work out cause once he got all his sounds layed out on his pads he could load it up in the MPC1000 make changes if need be and just save it as a mpc1000 pgm file. I mean either way it goes he gotta put work in.

True but he will do less work using bluebox instead of the 2000xl.com editor.
