Troubleshooting a possible Ghost

I bought a 1000 off eBay and I found immediately that while inside a sequence the window would constantly default (usually without hitting anything at all) to the pad window (the one displayed on page 41 of the manual - not sure exactly what it's called). Also, the numeric and mode buttons will usually turn on and off after it happens. One time after powering the unit down and restarting after a few minutes the loaded sequence started playing without my touching anything at all, then stopped after a few bars.

Any suggestions? Pretty obvious there's something wrong with the poor box?

I don't have the link to the thread handy, but there were some people on here that had problems with a protruding screw or some such causing an internal short circuit. The problems they had sounded a lot like what you are describing.

Maybe one of those folks could chime in....

sounds like a short somewhere. ask punchdrunk, he had this happen.
