recording with 1000

check it i have the stock flashcard that came with my mpc and i can only save like under 2 mins or something

if I get a harddrive would i be able to record when we practice for like a hour and USB it to my computer

or is there a way to compress the file when i sample something on my mpc so it dont take up that much space

youll still be limited by the amount of ram you have. id recommend the 128mb upgrade. youll still only be able to save 128mb chunks, but with the hd or a larger cf card youll be able to save multiple passes at that 128 chunk. but will still have to purge your ram between recordings. you can record in mono to save space itll gets you 24min or so with the 128.

i have the 128 ram ill try recording in mono i was just asking before i bought a mutitrack recorder, my homies freestyle over beats i play on the turntables and i was just sampling the recordings i had like 12 mins of sample time

but i can only save on that CF card under 2 mins thats all i tried thats why i was asking if i had a HD or bigger CF card i could save the full 12 mins of a practice

nah i know what im doing now, im just recording things through my dj mixer into my 1000 untill i get my multitrack but for now this works fine thanks for your help
