is there a way to format the internal memory of the default samples but keep the os

you cant take the stock kits off but you can replace the kits that you added to it i believe i

You can create an empty program and load that into the internal memory. Actually, if I remember correctly, for it to work properly, I think you have to put a very short, blank sample in that program since it won't let you do it with a completely empty program.

It's not quite a format, but it will basically almost clear out your internal memory.
