Yo, check out my set-up, what's next?

I have been able to gather a lot of information, but haven't been able to read any posts with my exact setup.

Acip Pro 4
Sound Forge
MPC 1000 (backordered )
Tascam US 122
Samson Resolv 50a monitors
Stanson Str8-80X decks w/ craze cartridge.

I'm getting vinyl, but my turntable skills are lacking. That I'm working on. I'm doing a pretty good job selling my beats made with Acid, but want to eventually move to do it all from start to finish. ($50/beat don't pay the bils.) Do I need a preamp/mixer with the 1000? Will I be able to play basslines and melodies with the 1000? I am looking into the MicroKorg, but the M2k isn't very much more, so I'm savin. Tempted to get one of the el cheapo boards out there (psrs?) or a good mpc 1k piano/bass CD???
Also, where do you fit a compressor into the signal to not have additional DA/AD conversions if I'm recording audio into Acid as a multitracker.

RNC compressor also highly recommended if u want a comp...

If you have a DJ mixer then you should be able to sample into MPC..or buy a cheap behringer channel mixer for sampling and feeding synths..decks and mpc into.

Feed the output of your setup/mixer/mpc into the compressor and then into the TASCAM US-122...by the way i have the US-122...you can get a nice sound from it

The Stanton STR8-80 is new to me, looks totally nutty. From the specs at amazon, it has line-level out, so you can def. send it direct to the MPC1000 without mixer or preamp. Plus it has S/PDIF digital out, looks like you can hook it up to the MPC1000 that way too. Now that's what I call progress... wants...

edit: also, if you fancy a nasty piano sound, see my page for the "CP-70" PGM I put together using Hollow Sun sounds, or the "Pine Piano". Well, they don't take up much memory...

get reason by propellerheads and rewire it to acid pro 4.0. reason has synths and as many samplers as your cpu can handle. cant go wrong.
