If you had a sample assigned to a Pad, and let's say that Pad was assigned to the Out 1/2 bus... could you take the 1/2 output of the 1000 back into its own Analog inputs (after going through an external FX box for example) and create a new "Filtered Sample"?

The reason I ask is... I was toying with getting a Korg Electribe ESX instead of a 1000, and one of the reasons in its favor was its ability to process ALL tracks through a single LPF for example. The 1000 doesn't have a Global LPF in its Effects lineup. But I could run the output thru an external filter and then (maybe) re-sample it on the 1000 itself.

I know you can resample the stereo output of the 1000 directly by choosing "MAIN OUT" when you record a new sample. But to do what I want, the 1000 would have to select "ANALOG" for input, press F6 to start recording, and THEN you'd press PLAY (or hit a Pad) to use the internal sample as the source of the sound you're recording! My hunch is that in ANALOG mode the 1000 may not let you hit a pad (or play a sequence) while it's recording. Does anyone know if the 1000 can record a sample AND play a sample at the same time? (fingers crossed...)

Thanks. Brad

You don't need your fingers crossed. It can resample itself through analog, or internally completely in the digital domain. You can also use the aux outs simultaneously (ie-through multiple effects), then mix back down to the stereo ins.

EXCELLENT! Can't wait to process the 1000 through Dave Smith's Evolver! (my 1000 won't arrive until next week). Thanks.
