automate track mute and solos

how do i automate track mute and solos so what i do in the track mute screen applys to the loop. if loop is four bar long and i want to mute my horn track on bar one and two- is this possible to do in track mute screen. i dont want to have to actually go in step edit and erase the horns. thanks.

You don't have to delete the horns in step edit, you can insert track mute events in step edit and unmutes.

does the alternative os allow me to record what im doing in track mute. dvds i appreciate the help but i think you gave good advice except for the fact taht i want to AUTOMate what im diong in track mute. i want the mpc to record as i mute and unmute tracks. its much better than recording volume or pans in the mixer mode.
