whats the best way to use my MPC1000 with Pro Tools?

Hey guys, i have my mpc 1000 and i want to know the best way to use the MPC 1000 through Pro Tools? like should i be laying the snare as its own audio track on pro tools then doing that with everything, or should i do just a whole drums track through the MPC and put it as one audio track. thanks for the help guys.

yeah I would definitely give each drum it's own track. It makes mixing the drums later on much easier. You can always add reverb and other things later on to make the drums sound like they're in the same room. But definitely make sure you give each drum it's own track. It also make drops a lot easier to pull off.

I think the best way is to use the mpc as the sync master for pro tools, and use the midi output into you comp to trigger the sounds, so in essence you are using your comp as a sound module. This is what I do with Logic.
