Ok so this weekend I was working on the MP when I realized how much I hate the red end caps so naturally I visited the MPCstuff website. As luck would have it they were out of stock. Plan B? Paint....
Heres what you'll need:
1. Can of automotive BUMPER paint
2. sanding sponge
3. newspaper
Ok so step one... Remove the end caps (2 screws each on bottom of MPC).
use the sanding sponge to rough up the plastic. I used the sponge instead of paper because its a little easier to get into the cracks plus paper may gouge the plastic. Make sure you get the back too (might as well do it all once). The sponge should be red from all the plastic. Thats a good thing! Now grab yourself a cloth and wipe it down. No need to wet it.
Now time to paint!!! When I did these it was 92 degrees outside. Perfect to get this job done quick!!! Open up that newspaper and give yourself some space so you dont overspray all over the place. Now Lay the end caps face down. Now some of you may be wondering why do the back
If you look at you MP you can see where the metal face plate and end cap meet theres a small gap where you can see the back of the end cap. So paint it now, be happy later 
Once dry flip them over and prepare to do the faces. I would suggest putting something under them so they dont rest on the newspaper this way they dont stick... Start spraying! I used about 6 coats taking 5 minute breaks in between sprays. On the final coat I let them sit for about half an hour before handling them. check out the results...
Ok so your done! Install the Endcaps and enjoy the new look of your MP. Now you can go buy some records with the $20 you would have spent on ordering them
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
-Take your time. Youll get better results and you wont hate yourself..lol
- make controlled passes when your painting this way it looks nice and even.
-dont be so close when your painting, 12 inches away will spray a nice fine, even color. So what if its light, take your time and put more coats.
-paint the whole piece. It'll have a nice factory look when your done.
BY THE WAY...
the main reason I used the bumper black is because it holds up well to abuse. With all the coats I put it will take a pretty hard hit to scratch it up. Also in the direct sunlight you can spray it and watch it dry right in front of your eyes so you know EXACTLY when to put that next coat on.
Hope you enjoyed it. I know its nothing major but somewhere one of you is saying "thank god... I need to do this! I hate my red sides"...lol or maybe not... Ok.... I'm done Now go make some beats!
