wuts up evrybdy... I am drooling over everything that JJ OS has to offer, only I dont necessarily trust my 1k to handle the upgrade approprietly. I bought my MPC used, it was the guitar center floor model with semi dead pads (that I fixed easily) and some cosmetic damage ( That I couldn't care less about). but also some internal quirks; quirks that don't hinder my ability to build fire, but I can tell that my machine is a lil off (I'm sure some of you can relate.problems similiar to my homeboy's 2000 before the xl type of ish, just random semi-malfunctions, timing issues, data blackholes, things that don't happen with enough regularity to consider them real problems). my question is do you think downloading a fresh OS like say -> JJ OS would be a quick fix for most of my problems or do I risk seriously damaging my most valuable possession should the problem be in the actual hardware for some ungodly reason. I want JJ OS, just scared my 1k cant handle it. I do fine without it, but it'd be much better for me with JJ as far as convinience/enjoyment/creative options go. thanks for yer time.

get the jj os, my guess is that most of your problems stem from the akai os.

I second that. Dont let those small lil hicups hold you back form a big beast of an OS like the JJ. And you can always switch back if you'd like, but I doubt you'll switch back. You'll prolly forget there is an Akai OS. LOL.

I don't think JJOS could damage your hardware, since its like uploading a new OS. And like Hero said, you can always downgrade back to Akai OS. And there is always the hard reboot option where it wipes everything should you run into serious problems.
