so into the 5th month of trouble shooting hard drives for my mpc 1000 ...tried a functional & forum recommended toshiba mk1032gax 100 gb 5400rpm drive and got "format is invalid" , then tried a hip hop tools.com tested & functional hard drive (toshiba mk1032gax 120 gb, same specs as the other one) and got the same error when trying to format : "format is invalid".
shipped my mpc to Fleet sound to get it fixed and he tells me the mpc is working fine and that the only toshiba drives compatible are the mk4026gax ones recommended on the akai forum. so, who's got the right information here? these drives were both tested on every akai and JJ OS, by the way.
any rock solid advice would be seriously appreciated at this point.
