I'm trying to do this exact thing and I figured out last night how to record MIDI but I don't knoe how to turn the internal sounds off on the pads. If I do turn the sounds off does that turn off the MIDI data too?

turn your autoload off, and dont assign any samples too pads ya are using for midi

Mode+Pad 9
Pad to Internal Souns: Change to OFF

Then make a midi track and record. THe midi data will be recorded, just no sounds on the pads
