What up everyone.Whenever i turn on my mpc the contrast of the screen will be darker than i set before.Or in the middle of doing something it will just get darker again.Well last night i accidently left my mpc on for almost 18 hours..I come to see a really dark screen and a hot mpc.I turned it off and about 5 min later when i turned it on the screen it was very dark but still adjustable.Do you guys know why my screen keeps adjusting its own contrast? Also, does anybody think i did harm to my mpc for leaving it on for so long???It was a complete accident and i have always taken very good care of it.

I don't know about why it behaves that way but I wouldn't leave it on for so long that often. Inside it's leds, diodes, transistors, etc. and eventually all these things die, they're not eternal. Now, as for how long they will last, I don't think anybody can tell you that for sure. There are probably specs out there, who knows, like product X is good for X amount of hours (like lightbulbs I suppose) but I wouldn't worry. Just remember to turn it off. Sorry can't help for the screen, I have no idea.

How old is the MPC? This helps a lot of users and gives us a reason to go to Akai.

It's a little over a year old.It has like 4 pads that are almost dead. But i actually just put JJ's 4.86 OS in there today and it since then the contrast has been perfect.Usually when i would turn it on the contrast would be very light. Now it doesn't do that. It's the same as i set before. The problem is fixed. Thanks yo
