Mixdown, Capture, Recording a Song from the MPC 1000

Once you have song ready on the MPC, what is everyone's method of getting it over to your PC or HD Recorder/Mixer to master, eq, mix, etc.

Do you play it real time and capture it out of the digital out?

Midi outs? For audio? Naw. You can either sample the main outs in Record mode, but the way with the best results is to bounce each track out individually. You can assign samples to outs on the back of the MP. So the more your audio interface has the faster you can bounce a song.

i'm sure if i did some research i'd get a new more efficient way to do it, but i just run everything through my mixer into the mpc and fine tune it that way, then from the mpc i mess with the mixer mode on there as well. then from the mp i just play it in real time (muting stuff in and out as i want along the way) and record it onto my laptop. chea.

Shoot I missed it that time. What i meant is I save as a midi. Place the file into cubase on the laptop and then assign the tones from there. I mostly use the 1000 for live performance

thx for the replies, I actually found out how to sample the main outs, from there I xfer it to my pc and master it.

I do agree that bouncing the tracks out individually is prb best way... right now I'm just balancing and mixing on the MPC to show the ideas to the interested parties.

Im having trouble getting my kick drum to hit the same way it did as when it was in the mpc... alot of the punch gets lost when i record.... whats the best way to go about recording the mp into the computer without losing alot of the punch?

You honestly will need a better pre-amp, but if you don't have the loot for that, you should use SPDIF to transfer the audio, that way there isn't any conversion...

is that tube pac preamp any good?

If you want to record your main outs with more volume or punch, you have to turn up the master volume on your MPC.

mpc 6 outs to 6 in from my soundcard and directly record that stuff, and mpc midi out to midi in from my soundcard for midi data..

simple as that
