Need MPC Guru Advice for MPC noob

Wussup everyone. Just got a new 1000, and check this out. I plug it in and its only coming out of the left side on my headphones. I try the 1/2 out on the back and its still coming out of 1 side. I have a feeling a got a dud? or am I missing something?

Yes I did check the mixer mode and the assigned outs at the top of each track says "ST".

Also, Im wondering why I can't access the programs that is listed in the manual. In the back of the manual it has like 7-10 kits I can sort through but when I shuffle though the menus, the only programs I have access to is

CDS
DJ-Hip-Set
Sunny-Set
Time-Set
Top-Set
No . 1


I know that there should be more programs listed for this MPC default. I know you can load more but Im thinking someone purged the card/ flash?? Am I missing something yall?

1. if it's coming out the left side on both the headphone out and the main out, then it's probably something in the software like pan.

2. the mpc1000 is a sampler, you're supposed to make your own kits! failing that modest amount of willpower though, check distortedtekno's posts about free kits from akai japan's website. just put 'japan' in the search box and 'distortedtekno' in the search for author box.

The kits I can understand.. But the pan to one side on all the tracks I think is the real problem. I checked the L/Pan and they are all straight up the middle.

Anyone else know what this is? If I cant figure it out this thing is going back monday. I'd hate to return it because of a software issue Im not knowing about.

Check your cables.. try switching them to figure out where the problem is..

cables are all fine. Gold monsters. Switched okay still only coming out left channel for both the Stereo outs and Phones jack.

Any other ideas?

any effects enabled? also, did you record these samples yourself?

Effects are all turned off and bypassed. These are the stock samples that comes with the brand new MPC 1000.

Turn on, and bam.. only left channel. Both phones and ST out are left only.
