Snap Crackle Pop!

Ey guys hows it all going?

Well i have a question that has pushed me to my limits in finding a solution.

Ok basically i have my mpc.. i have some deep kick bass samples on it.. and whenever i play samples from my mpc with these deep bass kicks it distorts. (if anyone knows the 808 sample: BD0010, thats the one that is distorting)

Here are some things you should consider..

1. I have already played some tracks that have deep bass and my speakers play it without any problems (hence speakers are not the problem)

2. On my headphones usign the headphone jack on the mpc the sample works perfectly and has a deep bass sound (hence the actual sample is clean and not the problem)

3. Ive hooked it up to another amplifier (a more powerful one with 8 speakers) and still its distorted, loud but distorted (hence amplifier is not the problem)

4. I have turned up the volume on my amp to the max and mpc to the lowest and visa-versa and no solution (hence volume levels are not the problem)

Ive come to a conclusion that it may be something internally in my mpc thats just not allowing a high sample rate to the stereo out.. mm weird

What can i do? This is seriously whack! lol

High samplerate? 1k only allows 44.1k.

Try lowering the master level on the "other" page (mode+pad 10), hope that helps. If not, upload the sample, i wanna check that for myself.

yeh well that didnt work, thanks for helping out tho... umm im not so sure how to upload.. although the sample is the BD0010 on the Roland TR-800

Ok found the bd0010 on my harddisk, but no distortion.

Sounds like the bit grunger fx on the bd to me. If thats not it i got no more ideas. Maybe upload just the sample, but i think we got the same ones, its perfect clean and plays like this on my mpc.

Anyone else?

what about other sounds??? Or is it just this kick on your mpc? Bring it to someone elses house and try it on their speakers... Is this a new mpc?

I know this is an old thread and i'm a newb and this is my first reply. I just bought my first MPC (2500LE) and I was having the same problem. Actually I created the problem myself. When I first started playin with my mp, I thought it was too quiet, I found there was a master volume field in the book, so, I turned that ish up! Well, after that I started makin my first mp beat, and everything played together was distorting. I came to this site, started searching threads and whalah. I went back to my mp book and sho nuff, it says right there under the master level section, if you turn it up and play alot of sounds together it will distort. Turned back down to factory setting, played the beat.......and smiled, problem solved. Thanks to my new homies @ MPC-FORUMS. I seriously thought something was wrong with my new mp.

Hopefully this will help other people/newbs like myself.

sometimes I get distortion on the mpc1000 when layering sounds, esp. when using LP filters with resonance at high values. Individual sounds play fine, but layered sounds distort.

I got mine a week after they came out. I got the last one at the GC here in Dallas.
