mpd 16usb hooked up to mpc 1000?

i don't own an mpc 1000 i use 2000xl

i 'm curious since i read complaints about the 1000 pads being smaller and i believe the mpd 16 has the same size as mpc 2000

can it be done?

mpc 1000 has midi and usb
mpd 16 has midi and usb

mpc can sync with pc
mpd can sync with pc

hmmm........anyone know about this?

Couldn't be done with USB (the 1000's USB port only works for moving files between a PC and the 1000's CF card, and the MPD16 doesn't 'sync' with a PC) but I don't see any reason why you couldn't use the MPD16 as a controller via the midi ports.

There isn't any real need to do this though, the pads on the 1000 are fine.

it would be nice for a zip drive connection.
