Auto chromatic assignment maintaining duration / bpm

Still waiting for my MPC but I have a question:

Is there a quick and easy way to do auto chromatic assignment maintaining WHILE maintaining sample length/bpm?

As you probably know, the only reason sample length/bpm is not maintained when using auto chromatic is that the sample is tuned rather than pitch shifted. to do what you want, you'd need to use pitch shift, and that means doing a seperate sample for each pad, which may not be as quick and easy as you'd like, but it works!
