akai mpc 1000 no slice option in trim screen???

Can anybody assist me on why i have no option to slice once i'm in my trim screen. i keep trying to follow directions on slicing up a sample and i've even checked step by step youtube directions, but i have no slice option in my sample trim screen. Please help if you can.

what version of the OS do you have? if you are using akai's os then you have to have version 2.1, if you are using the JJ os, then it's there.

okay thanks. i have to check the version when i get home. what's the deal with the jjs and akai..are there two different manufacturers? i have a blue mpc 1000.

JJ OS is an operating system not developed by AKAI that is 1000 times better than and more functional than the AKAI operating system.... there is a free version of JJ OS with less features, or you can purchase a password for the full version for just $30 and this includes free upgrades for life. there is an entire separate section of the forum about the MPC1000 JJ OS where you can find the answers to your questions...
