ive never turned mine in for warranty so i wouldnt know. i got my mpc cheap second hand with broken pads so i didnt really loose out. to say theyve run out of the old pads is a load of **** n i aint stickin up for noone i jus cant be **** with it all.

anyway, if the original pads were a new tech, why didn't they test them with that 100,000 uses and still going machine, really folks. is akai a company or a side street fruit stand?

i ordered my pads monday and OH what a hassle. first they are on back order. second, the retailer gave me the wrong zip so i might have to resend the MO when it gets sent back to me. AND i have to install it all myself.

on a side note, i paid 1200 for my mpc1k brand new thinking i would be able to use said pads for at least two years b4 they went bad, WRONG. and this was shortly before they sold the secretly new and improved 1ks.

on the other hand maybe we shouldn't complain when we are wronged. let's let firestone sell us tires that explode, and China keep making those lead painted baby toys. it's our fault for not knowing everything about a product by simply looking at it.

one more thing, akai was close to bankrupt b4 this pad fix came out. why do u think akai is now a part of numark? so if they sold us the fix at cost it would do wonders for this failing companies rep.
