clearing the tempory 16mb memory to record more???!!!

whaddup peeps.

i got another question, somthing that i cant find in the akai manual.

you ever get to the point where you've used up your 16mb of memory recording samples?

this always happeneds to me. i will userly record 50 seconds of samples and then when i start chopping them up i get to like sample 3 and then i'm out of memory.

i userly just save the chopped samples, turn mpc off - then back on and continue chopping the remaining samples.

after then i load all the samples into a new programm?

what i'm really asking is, is there anyway i can clear the temp 16mb ram memory while i'm in the middle of chopping shit up?

i'm just afraid that turning my mpc off and on 10 times during a session can damage the os.

what are your thoughts?

dude just buy the memory!
it's cheap, you don't need Akai branded.
do a lil research and make a purchase,
you really won't regret it.

and in answer to your question, no

when you load up your MP again go to save and SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY
before you load anything

that way you can load that project everytime you want to clear the memory
- it functions as a purge of sorts.

just remember to save your samples before hand!



but get the memory too - that way you don't have to worry about this hardly
at all...

Kingston 256mb works all day long!

just type "mpc1000 ram" in ebay and get the ones that are like $40... works the same at a fraction of the cost.

yeah i havn't had that issue since i bought ram. i think its around 30 minutes of mono or like 15 minutes of stereo. i'm lit tho so this could be completely off.

11 min Plus in stereo. Twice that in MONO.
