layering and resampling plus knowing ur mpc effects..check out goldwave and wavosour google them both and sample utilitys around the house and start to layer sounds together and use filters and effects to get it to sound the way u want...once u have a snare resample one last time and its urs a finsihed sound :) once u have alot of sounds u have ur own identity ur own sound no one can duplicate unless they sample u...

also drawing ur own wavform in wavosour is cool to give that a shot ull love the new synth sounds u make and drop that crossfader in there to..

go into RECORD mode and switch the Input to: MAIN OUT... you can now record whatever you play internally on your MPC.

how do u forget? for example u only own an mpc1000 u only have 2 effects but u want to add more effects.. the fix is resample ur sample..that way ur layer effects ontop of one another and u have a brick of audio to work with..

for example ur on mpc1000 u wanna pitch a loop a certain lentgh by the way it sounds u like it so much u wanna build an entire track around it..u later wanna use that same sound at that lentgh...simply resample it so its always that lentgh..

resampling is basically sampling ur sample..for example u gave a track and another track on track2 and another track on track3 u wanna make 1wave file and have all them sounds together u resample..

resampling makes new sounds..u dont need a shit load of fx processors u got 2 and thats a great u make infinite amount of new things with just those 2 by resampling..shit even with one effect u can resample or no effect but then thats just layering skills to fake effects like compressors and delays pans and vols whatever it can be resampled

I'm having a small issue. Do the level meters not work with re-sampling? It works and all but no levels, and it records the sound but at a pretty low volume. I have JJ 3.07

Also the, "waiting for input signal" does that only work in actual "input sampling" hence the name and all...

damn wavosaur let's you draw your own waveform? I've been looking for a program to do that for ages. awesome

wanna clue me in on how to do that?

Any takers on the level input?
I still don't see a way to get around this.
It's gotta be simple! Or the OS.... ?
