I'm having problems correctly sycincing Live 6 and MPC 1000

Whats up yall. I have a problem correctly syncing 1000 with Live 6. I;ve read the forum posts and the instruction manual and even purchased the "Beat making on the MPC 1000" step by step e-book tutorial and Im still havin problems. I am trying to record a drum sequence from my 1000 into Live 6. I can push record and play in Live 6 and the 1000 will start and stop in sync with no problems. But when I visually look at the recorded drum sequence wave file in Live 6, there is always a tiny gap in the beginning of the file. I tried setting the swing in the 1000 to 0 and used T.C to quantize my sequence (incase my timing is off, i don't step sequence) and I;m still getting a tiny gap in the beginning of everything i record into the Live 6. I have midi in 1A connected to the midi out of my Presonus Firebox and the midi out and 1 A of 1000 connected to midi in of Firebox. I have 1000 midi recieve channel set to ALL and sync in to 1 and out to A. Live 6 is set up as a master and 1000 is set up as slave. Live 6 is transmitting midi time code. I have latency in my Firebox and Live 6 set very low (2ms) to rule out any latency related issues. I'm running a core 2 duo 2.4 and 4 gigs of ram ith 2 500 gig hd's. When I run other programs in Live 6 via Rewire with Live 6 as the master, I have no delays or gaps in the begginning of the recorded material Can anyone help me or refer me to a post that will answer my question? that's called latency. You gotta change your delay compensation in live's "audio preferences" to compensate for that. Look down to where it says overall latency then put in minus whatever that number is into the driver error compensation box.

thanks for the post bro. I tried what you said regarding driver latency compensation, but it didn't seem to work. I can record me playing the pads on beat without a delay in Live 6, but i still get delays when i try to record a prerecorded sequences from my MPC into Live 6. I had a bit of success messin with Lives "track delay" section on the mixer view. The beginnings of my recoreded drum loop have no delays but the ends are chopped long and sound bAad when looped. I dont wanna have to warp everything i make on the MPC. I have no latency issues when recording d.i. guitar or an outbaord eq into my DAW. I did the Driver Error Compensation lesson in Live and I havwe no delay whatsoever with the analog I/O of my sound card. I have my MPC conected with SPDIF set to 44.1. Could it be a digital sync prob? I take it you must use Live with your MPC. Any tips on how u got it set up and do u use Spdif? Thanks again for your input much respect.

Don't forget you need a few empty bars at the beginning to give the midi time code the space it needs to sync up.

i've had the same problem. live 6 is REALLY unstable for midi recording. in fact, check out the new features list for live 7- better midi timing is on there.

the hell with that noise, just use reaper. i've completely transferred from abelton to reaper and i couldnt be happier. and reaper is FREE.
