i just got my christmas bonus today, and i'm goin to order my MPC1000 tomorrow, HOLLA!

ok the thing is, i have already bought my hard rive, ram upgrade and cf card to put in to my 1k when i get it,

quick question;

i'm gonna get the jj os, DO I HAVE TO FORMAT THE HARD DRIVE WITH THE AKAI OS OR THE JJ OS FOR IT TO WORK?

"No need to format"???!!! What are you guys on? Of course you have to format a new drive when you first install it in a system or the MPC won't even be able to see it!

And yes, use the JJ os. Akai formatting is (most likely) still broken with 2.11 as we're still seeing the "new folder bug" type complaints on here that were all over this group for the longest time until JJ corrected the Akai format code w/3.06. Don't risk it! There's no point.
