I use a MPC 2500 and was on my mates new MPC 1000(black) and just wanted to know

1.Do all the black MPC 1000's have the new pads ?.
2. Is it normal to have to press hard for the pad to work or is it just the difference between the 2500 and 1000 ?

No, all black MPCs do not have the new pads.

No, that is not normal, it sounds like that MPC has bad pads.

Incorrect..I have a 1k with new pads, and it's quite normal for them to double hit if you don't bang 'em right..as with alot of the older mps..They get the job done, though..It's not always the machine, as much as it is the user..

haha whatever man. first off he didn't say anything about double hits... he asked if you have to strike the pad hard to make it work. I have an MPC1000 with old pads, and a few of them I have to strike with more force than the others to register a hit. This is a problem with the pads. You shouldn't have to apply much force to register a hit. It is not "quite normal" for them to double hit.

Precisely..if you don't bang them right they won't hit..or occasionally, register twice in my exp..just emphasizing dun

1k pads, new or old are made cheaper than other models, this is fact...I believe what money's describing is indeed normal..Doesn't necessarily mean his boys pads are bad.
