Never used tap tempo

What is the point? It is not very exact. I have always just listened and right before the next kick is supposed to be, I set the loop point there. You can figure out the EXACT tempo in trim mode. Are there benefits to tap tempo that I am missing?

i never use it either, turned it off and never turned it back on.

Tap tempo on any piece of hardware I've ever used was never meant to be precise. It just gets you relatively close (with some practice), then you can manually adjust the tempo to where you need it to be.

exactly.... it works ok on the 1000 - much better if you assign the function
to a pad rather than that crummy tact switch.

to use the tap tempo all i do is make a new sequence with nothing on it and in trim mode i play the sample and start tapping to the beat..then i exit trim and go back to my min screen and set the bar to 1bar so it loops at one bar and then i fine tune the tempo and then i go back to trim and stretch it to the tempo i need it to be at thats if im using loops..most samplist on here sample small and stay out of looping..but me i use loops like 2 beats worth and work that way somtimes even a bar worth..but ya its good to use loops sounds so much better in my opinion.

the tap tempo gets me close to the bpm and then I adjust it manually. but is is not very precise as already mentioned

for example the tap tempo button on my pioneer efx500 or in serato is much more precise and I get he exact bpm of the song with it

if you set the tap tempo options to average on 4 taps instead of 2 it's much more accurate

I've landed the EXACT tempo of a loop numerous times just using tap tempo

I never use tap tempo--I don't even remember how to turn it on--and if you chop small enough you can choose ur own bpm

I agree with the "4 tap average" method. Any less than that is kinda useless.

To me this button is very important.
I often start just playing the keyboard, when i come up with a good riff/melody/chord progression i set the tempo and record it.
Same goes for working with musicians or just for jamming.
