But is this a common error with pads (notes triggering randomly)?
I thought the main problem was the pads dying. There doesnt seem to be
that many of us that have this problem.

Still think the mpc feelt bad being placed between my elektron machines
and blew a fuse :)

randomly triggering pads can be a result of pads going bad. the conductive rubber in between the rubber pad and the copper coil is attached by 4 dots of what amounts to hot glue gun glue. understandably, since rubber sloughs, this glue (silicon glue) releases the conductive rubber, which floats free. this can cause ghost notes or completely dead pads.

which is why you need to get a mpc1000 w/ new pads

Ok! Thanks for the explaination Nym. I will send it away for repairs tomorrow. Its still under warranty, so hopefully it will all go well.
