trim mode question?

i have my sample trimed to the length that i like but i don't have the option to slice it into different sections. can anybody help me out?

i feel your frustation man, im guessing your like me and have the old os system by akai. All you can do is trim your one sampled sound. You can't chop it up into "regions" like the new JJOS, only just edit the start and end points. If you youtube mpc 1000 sample chop, you'll see how much easier it is with the new JJOS. You can cut it up into 1 region, the entire sample, or 16 regions, with the sample chopped into 16 different pieces on 16 different pads. Make sense?? It makes it hella easy to sample a drum loop or break and chop up the drums to your liking. hope this helped. All i can say is get one of the JJOS, seems to be the way things have headed as far as ease of work.

im actually wondering if someone could break down this os thing for me, So need a password from os1 to get 0s2? Is the os1 decent in itself, or should i go with the new os2? any tips would be great

Hey man, you're best bet would be to try out the OS1 and OS2, the free versions. You can change to which OS you choose so you are not stuck with either. I suggest getting this up and running to see what all the fuss is about. But to break down how it is installed (OS2) you need to have v4.98 and above. I believe that you will love what you see and so it would be an after thought to go back to what AKAI gave out.
