ok I'll try and rephrase this question. I figured out how to midi the mpc to use the transport controls in reason. now I can't figure out how to keep my mpc as the master. In reason it says that the mpc is the master and I can control everything, but the question I have is how do I record in the midi events in my mpc with different patches in reason? First i record my drums on midi channel 1A, then I go to record my bass on track 2 Midi 2A but it takes the drum events I just put down and makes them the bass events. I tried all different tracks and all different midi channels but cant figure this out. Please any help would be great. thanks.

I have very similar problem with my 2kxl and vst instruments in cubase. Tried different channels and settings, nothing helped.

I messaged sparq about this but he hasn't answered me back yet. hopefully he does because the video doesn't fully explain it fully. Plus I don't have a midi keyboard. I am using an mbox2 as my interface.

in reason - on the preff's make sure your MPC is NOT ticked ..
then make sure on your MP that the soft thru option is AS TRACK

in cubase its more longwinded you gotta play about with the midi filter on each track so it only recognises midi coming from the channel you want...once you set it up once for 16 channels just save it as a template

while om here! does anyone know if time signature info saves with the MIDI SEQ when you save one on the MPC?

Thanks i'll try that out...As for your question, i'm not to sure... but i think if you create a new folder on your card and save entire memory in that folder that should work. when you turn on your mpc, load that folder of the beat you were working on and all you settings should be there. hopefully that works.

It's not online anymore - at least it wasn't when I was looking for it. But inside my JJ OS Manual there is a section about syncing settings for the MPC (p. 32) and a special tutorial for using Reason with the MPC (p. 36-38.
