Only 20 songs?

Hi!

I am interesting to buy an mpc 1000 and i would like to ask, if there is a way to record more than 20 songs.

For example i imagine to write 100 songs but from time to time i would like to load an old song to remix it again. How could i do that if it only last 20 songs? Can you write more than 20 songs on a hard disk drive or on a compact flash memory?

Also, when you load a song, does MPC auto load the samples that these songs use or you must load them one by one?

Just save the songs to your CF/HDD and reload them when you want them.
The MPC doesn't retain it's memory when you switch it off, you have to load what you want when you turn it on.

Yes you have an option to save all sequences and songs (or even ENTIRE MEMORY) and reload them all at once.
Samples are saved and loaded seperately (unles you save ENTIRE MEMORY).

You can load many, many songs to your CF/HDD. More than you will need.

If you need more than 20 songs loaded on the machine at once, you can convert songs to sequences (max capacity permitting).

Can i use the mpc as a midi data filer? Can i do multilevel midi recording or only one by one channel? If yes, i will be very happy!

Its best to "save the entire memory" of your current beat to the memory card in a folder so you can just load it back up again whenever you want.If You ever have a maxed out amount of songs you can put on the cf then just buy another one.
