Okay first thanks for the response!
To start:
1) You take loop, dump to recycle, then export. So then you have AKP files and the slices.
2) You open MpcPrgMaker and: what do you do here? when I import I have to drag each individual "slice"? Am I doing something wrong?
3) So then I drag folder containing AKP, Slice (.wav) and Midi file to MPC CF Folder. I open but cant import the AKP...I have to do each individual slice again? I know I'm doing something wrong, what is it?

here's what i do:
1) take my sample(wave or aiff) and set my slices and/or effects in Recyle
2) once i've got everything the way i want it, i export the sample as a wave (i usually just make a new folder and Recycle will then dump all your slices in your desired location [folder]). you can also export with the midi file here; this is useful in playing back the full loop. be sure to export as wave files!!!
3) now i open MpcPgmMaker, find your exported waves (slices) in the left hand browser bar to the left. then drag your slices onto your desired pads. you can here the samples by clicking on the sound or on the pad once you've placed it on the pad display. you can delete whatever you place on the pads by hitting: apple key+ clicking on your mouse. you can set all four banks by using the A, B, C & D buttons at the top of the MPCPGMMAKER display.
4) once you've got your slices (waves) onto your desired pads, you want to name your .pgm in the display box, make sure to have Rename, Folder & Samples selected (they should be dark grey) and then hit: Make PGM.
that's it!
just connect your MPC via USB and drag the Folder you just made onto the MPC1000 drive and your there.
there are other ways and definite varitions to the instructions i just gave you but this'll get you up and going. play around with it and you'll get the hang of it and what works best for you.
just be sure to export your Recycle slices as waves. drag files to pads, label folder (so you can find it), Rename/Folder/Sampls should be in dark grey (also Format is MPC2000xl) and click on "Make PGM".
i would also suggest making a dedicated folder on your drive somewhere for your .PGM's. it makes organizing a lot easier.

ps. if you load the .pgm (i load mine with the MPC's: All Files function which is in the load screen under view [scroll around around if you need to]) you made in your MPC and the samples aren't on the pads, go to Main Screen and make sure under "PGM:" to scroll to your desired pgm(s) (this is in the track view portion of the main screen), and if that doesn't work...hit me back.

I try and Stay away from akp files b/c only a select amount of programs can open them up. The MPC can read these files, you will need a converter to read those kind of files. I believe its named Chickensys..do a google and you'll see.

Just tried it. Followed your instructions but I can't get it to work. I load the folder, then select the PGM on the main window. No sound. Any ideas?
When I go into Program mode and look at my samples...it has a question mark in front of it. It shows: ?clap5...for pad A for example.
Also, in the Load>Directory window, it doesn't show the wav icon next to my samples, but ti does show the PGM icon next to the pgm file.

Update: I trashed the .snd files, and replaced them with .wav files. When in the directory window, I can now see the WAV icons. That problem is fixed.
However, I still can't get sound, and when in PGM mode, there is still a ? in front of the file.

it should work exactly as i said!?...hmm, what do you mean by PGM mode?
slice in Recyle, export as wave files, open MpcPgmMaker, load waves onto pads, make .PGM file (with sampls, rename and folder selected/as well as MPC2000xl), now on your mpc1000 hit mode+load (pad#2), press USB (F4), connect the usb cable, drag your folder you made in MpcPgmMaker onto the mpc1000 drive (on your desktop or in your finder), eject mpc1000, now press Load (F1) and where it says "File:" scroll till you the folder you just loaded onto you CF card, now make sure where it says "View:" it says "ALL FILES", hit DO IT, go ahead and select "YES" to Replace same files in memory, once files are loaded, hit your main button, now go down to where it says "PGM:..." and scroll here and find the name of the PGM you made in MpcPgmMaker...and, and...presto!
that should and does work...i just walked through it to make sure. you can all go your LOAD screen and make load you .pgm from within the folder as well.
as long as where files are waves, and you make the program correctly in MpcPgmMaker you shouldn't have any problems.

Just tried it again Actuel, exactly how you described it. Still won't work for some reason. I'm not getting any sound from the pad it is assigned, and sitll get the ? in front of the name, ie ?kick5
Btw, PGM Mode: Press mode, then Pad 7 to go into Program mode.

I just re-downloaded the software, and now it works. I guess I had a bad DL? Anyways, thanks for the help though.

i paid for mine. it's really well designed software and for the money you can't beat it. plus, the creator of this application deserves his $20.

by the way, i don't access the program (PGM) through Mode+7. i think it's easier to just go to it from the main screen; you can access it by hitting the "WINDOW" button. just use your scroll-arrows (underneath jog wheel) and go down till your in the "PGM: Program(or whatever you have selected) window and hit the "WINDOW" button (it'll be lit up yellow).
either way works but this is more efficient in assigning different programs to different tracks. like maybe you have a "drum" pgm loaded on tracks 1-7 and then you can scroll through other loaded PGM's in the main window to add Bass on 8-9 or whatever. by hitting the "Window" button when you've got the PGM:.. selected in the MPC1000 main window (or main view , whatever you want to call it) you get access to how you want that particular tracks attributes to be.
