im having trouble with the 1000 and protools syncing up with the reguar OS.

does this way of syncing the mpc and protools only for jj os system? cuz there is no midi clock on the mpc 1000 or mmc. the sync page on mpc 1000 standard is midi out and midi in where you select the channels. m i missing something?

what hardware are you working with? mbox 1,2, mini, 001, 002, or tdm.

im personally working with an MBox1.

i know some pro tools geeks i could ask if i cant figure it out.

Rockwell you need a midi interface! midisport 2x2 or 4x4 or whatever. once you get that installed hit back. mbox 1 doesnt have midi, i too have the mbox 1 and a midi sport 2x2 work flawlessly make sure pt see you midi.

Forgot to mention I also have a Motu midi interface in my humble setup.
I will attempt to sync the two tonight maybe and let yall know if i can get it to work.

Correct sync with any DAW (Sonar, Protools, Cubase etc.) is impossible with the MPC 1000.
Akai has screwed us by not having MTC (Midi Time Code) on the 1000
You have to upgrade to the 2500 for MTC.
No matter what you try, the sync will be unstable, because Midi Clock is not consistantly stable.

SO LETS ALL THANK AKAI FOR THE GOOD SCREWING
WITHOUT RELIABLE SYNC, THE MPC 1000 IS ALMOST WORTHLESS FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A STAND ALONE BEAT BOX.
