How to Edit sample or edit sequence in MPC?

Is there any way for me to shorten a sample that's too long or make a sequence shorter IN THE MPC, not from PC removed to and back, etc.. I just wanna cut it up a bit - how???
(I know I can take away sounds from the sequence in step edit but I don't know how to cut a sequence or shorten down a sample)

You need to read the manual olof2007 as this is one of the basic operations of the MPC.

go to trim mode select the sample highlight the part that you DO want
and "edit" and go to discard and press "do it" that will trim off the excess or in other words the non highlighted section hope that helps
