record from the mpc into the computer

hello i want to record my sequences/songs to my computer.
i have an e-mu 0404 soundcard, so when i put my jacks with cables from my mpc ( stereo out) to my soundcard.
i open audacity and i press record and in my mpc i go to record mode and i go to main out, i press record and then start but there is no signal.
nothing happend, i try everything but i can't figure it out.
can anybody help me please?

Make sure you activate the right inputs in the Emu Patchmix. By default they must be there.
Then chose the right inputs in Audacity >Preferences> Audio I/O .

Just playing 'start' on your MPC is enough, you don't want to record on your MPC.

i open the patchmix i reset it to default.

Do you see the audio inputs from the 0404 in the Patchmix?

If 'yes': when you play a sequence from the MPC, do you see a signal coming into the Patchmix?

Can you find the right inputs in Audacity's Preferences? Most computers come with internal soundcards and you often must tell programs like Audacity to chose the other soundcard.
