Keyboard Stand for mpc1000?

Because I'm going to be doing quite a lot of gigs this summer (yay!) I probably need to move on from dumping my mpc1000 n my microkorg on whatever chairs or surfaces are handy on stage ... so I was wondering if anybody here has any recommendations for keyboard stands that don't collapse on you mid-set but which don't break the bank either. I saw Late of the Pier on tv recently and their mpc1000 seemed to be sitting on a small stand above a rack mixer ... no wonder people have pad problems, the way he was whacking his lol

I have used this in the past. It will not collapse to the width of the 1000, but it is close. I ended up cutting a piece of 1/8" plywood and placing it under the machine between the rails.

christfuturea, are those wooden pannels on your Mp? If so, where did you get them and how do I get some of the same?

Yeah, the black mpc with wood pannels looks great. Where did you get that? Did you do it yourself?

You can also use a sheet music rack for the MPC..... Sam Ash carries some basic stands at reasonable prices that work... I have a dual layer keyboard setup and I use plexi glass on the second tier to put the MPS on.... That would prob be really good for the mobil person. With my setup the plexiglass sheet has enough room and strength to hold the MPC and my Mac...

ya, those are my originals. now that i have a working prototype, i'll going into production in the next couple of weeks.

I bought the same exact stand about a year or two ago and used some 1/2" thick MDF for the rails. I had some black vinyl adhesive laminate to cover the MDF, so it blends nicely with the stand.
So I highly recommend the MIX-400 stand as well, rather than the Quik Lok (which doesn't look as sturdy).
No problems with the MIX-400 at all since I bought it. It gives me more room for other gear on my desk.
