layering on the mpc1000?

ok the mpc1000 is hot!!! one question about the 4 layer field. Can I have four layers of a sample with different filter settings? It seems that when i stack more than one sound for example 3 kick drums, when i filter one all of them get filtered the same? Can i make it so one is filtered, while one is not and so on?? i hope this makes sense, thanks for any help/

Nope, filter is applied to all sounds on the pad, sorry. Only variations you can create from layer to layer within the same pad are tuning and level. The EG is applied to the total pad, and I think so is the One Shot/Note On.
