Question with note repeat

Is there a way to use the note repeat without holding down the button? i saw a video of someone doing this with a 4000. just figured id ask to see if it was possible, im using a 100 with 2.10 OS

(I would assume this is in the manual, but who the hell ever reads those things right?)

Akai software? Scary. Oh well, better you than me I guess. Anyway, I know the JJ OS has the option to assign Note Repeat to a footswitch jack. I just use any switch I can latch closed. Lately it's been a telegraph key.
