MPC 1000 and Logic 8

I'm trying to dump my Mpc1000 audio sequences into logic track for track. Every time I hit record in logic it plays one of my samples in the mpc and cuts it off and its on the beat like a metronome. Please help. Stuff sounds haywire rightnow.

go into settings>metronome and change midi port to off hope it helps

I actually just got it.....Soft thru and Omni A. on the MPC....thanks for the reply
