Hi!

I was just wondering, is there any way to convert a sequence to a sample, so you can transfer it via usb, and do further edit with your pc? Or do you have to record it in to your pc?

Help much appreciated...

yes you can,

*mode + *record (pad 5)

switch your *input from *analog to *main out and press *record (f6) and *playstart (make sure your on the right sequence on the *main screen)

(remember to adjust your record gain knob properly so your recording doesn't distort.)

basically sample your sequence as if you were with a turntable...

go to *trim (mode+f6) and trim the edges or wait t do it on the pc...

after that save your "sequence sample" to memory card and transfer that sample through usb. once on the pc, you can use a recording software to make the loop of the sample last longer, (4 bar loop sample, into 120 bars)

cool edit, sound forge, etc.

that's the best way i know to explain it.

ps. if you have enough ram installed and a cf card that's big enough, you can sample the sequence for a minute or two and then save, (this way you can skip using editing software to make sample longer.)

hope this helps.

I wouldn't recommend doing that on a computer. I tried looping in cool edit, in the multitrack, and after few minutes, the loop goes offbeat. This is because it is almost impossible to cut the loop exactly where it starts and where it ends. Example: Let’s say you cut your loop and it is 0.001 sec too long. After 120 repetitions, you will be offbeat by 0.120 sec. Now, try to put some vocals on it, see what you will get.

IF you have enough memory, you should resample the whole length of sequences, with the method that wordupcuz explained.
