help :Just got a MPC

Hey whats good?

I'm new around here, and it's been hell learning to work with the MPC1000. Im glad that this forum exists because all people i know just use software.

So the problem here is that I don't a turn table nor records to sample from. but i got a lot of songs in my computer. is there anyway that i could record the song from my pc and then chop it on my mpc?

I tried to drag and drop but it doesnt allowed slicing.
suggestion?

Whats up homie. Thats been covered a million times but check it. Get yourself a 1/8" to stereo 1/4" wire. One end into the audio out of the comp and the other end to the line ins on the MPC. Now this is one of the wackest ways to get samples in the MPC being that the quality is trash at best. But this will work to get you started.

A lil advice: get familiar with the manual and search feature on this site. Theres a lot of info here. Peace.

Also, you can USB link the MP with your computer and transfer WAV files onto the MPs hard drive.

connect the cable
go to the load screen and pick the place you want to load stuff to
hit the function button that says USB

wait for the magic icon to appear and let the draggin and dropping get poppin

nb, these must be WAV files at 16bit 44.1kHz NO MPThrifties

Grab the sample that you want in like adobe audition or w.e. from the song that your sampling. Save it and put in your CF card into your computer. Drag the file into the folder and then put it back on your MPC.

Here is my 2 cents.



Download Audacity (Freeware). You canuse this program to convert MP3's into wave. You can also use it to chop samples and stuff as well. The benefit of using Audacity to chop is the better visual..... You just drag and Drop an MP3 into Audacity and then export it as a wave. Then transfer it into your CF card, or HD and now you have samples....
