Did my MPC 1000 overheat?

I went digging this morning (got a few gems ) and I've been on my MPC for the last 6-7 hours or so. It just randomly turned off. I think it may have overheated. It sits on a tablecloth, so that may have contributed if it did overheat. Has this ever happened to anyone? Any other explanations?

I've accidentally knocked the power cord loose or bumped the power button.

Never an overheating power-down. Also, I doubt having the mp on a table cloth would make any difference as hot air tends to move upward anyway.

Dont really have any suggestions, but maybe if you answer the questions i put below it might shed a little light for other peoples ideas.

1. have you had it long

2. what model mpc1000 is it (bk/bk-n etc)

3. is it second hand?

4. Did it turn straight back on again?

5. Which OS are you using - Akai/JJ_1,2, or free?

6. Is it ok now?
