How many programs do you autoload???

ok so heres the deal. i load 50 kits in the autoload folder. this is what loads at each startup. it helps my workflow to be able to just scroll through my drums instead of having to load them when i need them. anybody else have a crazy amount of kits they load up every time? and these are all drums. no music samples or loops.

I put everything in an autoload folder, all my sounds and sequences, and songs. Everything I'm not currently using I keep on my computer. I use the mpc as a live instrument so I can't be doing mid set loads, it's too fiddly and I don't want anything to go wrong!

I saved a program that would load the tracks I mostly use: Kick 1, Snare 1, ect... I also have a program load just 32 sounds that I use constantly: Hi Hat, closed hat, open hat, some SIMULT pads and some percussion. Just so I can get a feel of where I'm going and to not have to rename the ish out of my tracks at the end. I use this template most of the time but am not stuck to it.

I'm still setting my autoload folder up.

I'm still figuring out how to make programs. I made an 808 kit program and it came out ok but now I have to do it for a lot of samples that I downloaded.

I got a lot of configuring to do on my MPC 1K

you dont autoload anything? that was one of the only things that killed me with my xl. the 32mb was never enough to autoload my main kits and still sample for the songs i was working on. with all the kits i load i still have 2 minutes of sample time to work with. but it does take like 5 min to start up my 1000

yeah, i don't autoload anything either (other than a blank program that has midi notes mapped out sequentially and some other basic settings how i like them).

i just go thru and audition samples from the MPCs internal harddisk & assign them to pads as i go ( JJ OS makes this quick and easy). i have about 5 gigabytes of samples on there so far so i couldn't autoload all of that stuff even if i wanted to. everything is well categorized by folders so i can zip thru and find the sound i'm looking for without too much trouble.

i'd like to be freaking out while working.. don't want any template kits, it will make you lazy on creating nice drums matching with your samples and sounds..

most of my drum files are original or edited by me. so i have already done my base work. and if i cant find something that fits my current project i just tune and sample a new one from my 14 piece drum kit. i wouldnt call it lazy. its just ahead of the game. so it doesnt slow down my work flow spending time trying to find and load another sound to work with. its really less buttons to hit to get to the sound files.
