Im actually gonna buy a 1k pretty soon and load that sh!t with JJ. I'll never part ways wit my xl though

^ and you shouldn't. you know who to come to if/when you need jjos2 advice and instruction. i'd be more than happy to send you some of my source projects for you to look at if you need some better "Demo" songs

one, when my pictures of my machine hit the MPC-forums, i guarantee you i'll receive a lot of love and a little hate. it's gonna be cool, but there are surely gonna be some folks who will say "you ruined its resale value" or "that looks like sh!t"

but the plan is for ultimate standing comfort. stand behind a desk raised to stomach level, play drums on the pads without having to look at them. to the left the expanded qlink panel will sit. to the right, the typical controls will be - with an improved rotary encoder knob. in between will sit the modded MPD16 box. all this will connect to the lower level, ie the main box of the mpc containing the majority of the boards/ IO connections. this will never be touched except to turn the machine on/off.

the screen will be the best, though. i'll position it anywhere!
the main job here will entail a lot of soldering and a couple part sources.

Why don't you just buy a 2500! lol

because i don't want to waste money on empty space, a cd player, and identical software specs.
also, this will be a more comfortable machine - no craning my neck
1000 has a better jog wheel, too

Just ribbin ya a bit mate.

It will be great to see the end result.

Personally I would prefer to see you do your custom thing as opposed to getting a 2500.
